Mortgage Systems
Background
By mortgage systems we mean electronic tools that help either mortgage advisors or the public can use to access information relating to mortgages. Mortgage systems come in two main categories; offline or desktop systems, or online systems. Desktop systems and online systems could in theory both be used for advisors to select suitable mortgages for clients. Although currently desktop systems such as Trigold and Mortgage 2000 are primarily used for this purpose this trend is likely to change over the next twelve months given the massive advantages of online systems in terms of data being up-to-date, support and cost savings for data providers.
mortgageLinked
eLink’s mortgageLinked mortgage systems include a desktop system which is used by mortgage brokers as a conventional sourcing, case management and compliance tool and our online system which although it can be used by advisors is more usually found on websites to help the public search for a mortgage. Although for this reason the online system is simpler to use, it is very comprehensive and products such as the Mortgage Wizard and the Quick Search will source with excellent accuracy provided data entered is correct. mortgageLinked provides the same full KFI information found in mortgage systems such as Trigold.
The Future
The future of mortgage systems is one that encompasses both the past in terms of sourcing and case management and the future in terms of allowing clients to be more involved in the choice. Let’s face it most people now choose their car and household insurance online so provided the public are comfortable with the online experience the very least many will now want is to be able to research using mortgage systems themselves. eLink has now developed a system that includes a KFI document to allow the public not only to choose a mortgage but to apply for it with all the relevant compliance boxes fully ticked. Go to the Featured sites page and see the Mortgage27.co.uk site to see an example of this.
